Reliable fuel cell off-gas treatment under dynamic conditions
Fuel cell systems operate under dynamic load profiles. As operating conditions change, the composition, flow rate, and energy content of the off-gas can vary significantly. Conventional flame-based burners can struggle to maintain stable combustion across this wide operating window, particularly when off-gas streams become ultra-lean or change rapidly.
Catalytic technology supports fuel cell off-gas treatment by oxidizing residual fuel components at lower ignition temperatures than conventional combustion. Catator’s flameless catalytic combustion technology provides stable and complete conversion across a broad range of gas compositions, without the need for support fuel.
