Will ammonia be an important hydrogen carrier in the future?
Already by 2035, renewable electricity production is expected to exceed 50% of global energy consumption, primarily due to the rapid expansion of wind and solar power. Solar, in particular, is outpacing expectations and is projected to grow to the equivalent of eight times the world’s current fleet of nuclear reactors within the next decade.
With this surge in renewable energy, the demand for converting electrical energy into chemical energy for storage and distribution will soar. Ammonia is expected to play a key role in this transition, serving as a hydrogen carrier, feedstock, and fuel for “hard-to-abate” sectors, especially the marine industry.
Tune in to hear our R&D Director explain why we believe Ammonia is poised to become one of the dominant hydrogen carriers of the future.
